General Accountant – Construction Industry

Job Description

Record and process daily financial transactions in accordance with accounting standards. Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, bank accounts, and other financial records. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Track and monitor construction project expenses, including materials, labor, and subcontractor costs. Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts for construction projects. Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections. Prepare and submit tax filings (e.g., VAT, income tax, payroll taxes) in compliance with local laws. Assist with external and internal audits, providing required documentation. Coordinate with procurement and project teams to ensure accurate cost allocation. Monitor retention, billing, and contract-related accounting entries.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience in the construction industry. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or construction ERP systems). Strong Microsoft Excel skills Familiarity with local tax and labor laws. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
