- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Reviews and processes routine accounting data for revenue and expenditures.
- Reviews and reports financial transactions to funding sources, ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with provincial and federal requirements, and standard accounting and audit procedures.
- Analyzes, reconciles, balances and maintain accounting records.
Research processing problems, contacts units or vendors to resolve problems and expedite payment, and respond to inquiries by telephone or in writing, refers complex problems for solution.
- Distributes period financial reports, maintains physical inventories and assists with other clerical functions as required.
- Assist with audits and prepare audit papers for work.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (essential).
- 10-15 years of accounting work experience (essential).
- SAP experience is a plus.
- Solid Accounting systems background.
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
- Excellent report-writing, communication, and excel skills.
