Job Description
Cost Accounting & Analysis:
Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting systems for herb cultivation, processing, and packaging.
Analyze costs of raw materials, labor, and overhead to provide insights for cost control.
Monitor and track production expenses, identifying cost variances and reporting on trends.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts related to agricultural production.
Track expenses against budget allocations and provide variance analysis reports.
Inventory & Valuation:
Oversee inventory management and valuation, ensuring accurate reporting of stock levels and costs.
Conduct periodic physical inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for cost savings in farming, processing, and supply chain activities.
Work with operations teams to implement lean production and waste reduction initiatives.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare regular financial and costing reports for management review.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities by reconciling cost accounts and preparing journal entries.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
Maintain accurate and auditable records for internal and external audits.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA is a plus).
3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the agriculture or food processing industry.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Experience in agricultural production environments is highly desirable.
Key Competencies:
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Other Requirements:
Familiarity with herbs cultivation, drying, and processing workflows is an advantage.
