Senior Cost Accountant. 5-7 years of experience in cost accounting
Job Description
Oversee the preparation and analysis of product costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
Monitor and report on cost variances, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
Prepare detailed cost reports for management, highlighting key insights and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to develop and maintain accurate cost budgets and forecasts.
Analyze historical data and market trends to support cost projections.
Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation.
Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
Identify opportunities to streamline costing processes and improve accuracy.
Implement best practices in cost accounting and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Lead, mentor, and develop the costing team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor team performance to meet deadlines and objectives.
Work closely with production, procurement, and sales teams to gather cost-related data and provide insights.
Support pricing strategies by providing accurate cost information.
Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations.
Assist in internal and external audits related to costing and inventory.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
5-7 years of experience in cost accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proficiency in ERP systems, with strong SAP awareness, and advanced Excel skills.
In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial analysis, and inventory management.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
