Chief Accountant 7–10 years of progressive experience

Job Description

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting. • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement preparation, reconciliation, and analysis. • Review and approve journal entries, adjustments, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning. • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements. • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement. • Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions and initiatives. • Mentor, coach, and develop accounting staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. • Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in financial management processes.

Job Requirements

Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required). • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent professional certification (preferred). • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (a plus). Experience: • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance. • At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or senior accounting role. • Experience with ERP systems is highly desirable. Skills: • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP). • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills. • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software. • Excellent leadership and team management skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. • High level of integrity and professionalism.
