AP Accountant

Job Description

Perform day to day accounting duties. - Manage journal entries and ensure proper general ledger coding in support of monthly closings. - Input accounting data into the accounting system with speed and accuracy. - Record information such as accrual, deferral, and interdepartmental entries into the company’s accounting ledger. - Prepare, review and post monthly journal entries and account reconciliations to the general ledger. - Assist with monthly and yearly closing process including financial analysis and financial reporting. - Prepare timely and accurate monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including cash, advances, prepaid expenses, deposits, fixed assets, deferred costs, and deferred liabilities, accrued expenses, and other accounts as needed. - Assist in the development and maintenance on accounting system that records and reports all financial transactions per generally accepted accounting principles. - Monthly review of general ledger for month ends close to ensure transactions are properly recorded for financial statement preparation. This includes all asset, liability, revenue, and expense accounts. - Prepares, monitors, and interprets monthly financial reports and analyses for the Head of Finance, this includes but is not limited to revenue and expense statements, balance sheets, and year-to-date financial statement summaries. - Works with Head of Finance to take corrective action when necessary. - Prepare monthly journal entries such as Cash, Payroll, Benefits, Prepaid, In-kind, Expense Allocations & Revenue. - Assist with Balance Sheet preparation and Monthly Account reconciliations. - Perform account analysis for cash accruals, account payables, account receivables, reconciliations to make sure that entries and balances are correct and support decision-making purposes. - Ensure that all data and information entries are accurate and that transactions are reported in accordance with accounting standards and government regulations and make the necessary changes if required. - Follow documentation retention policy to maintain accounting files. - Support Auditor in conducting internal and external audits. - Provide backup coverage for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. - Maintain confidentiality of organizational information. - Handle Fixed assets transactions, Maintain Fixed assets register and run monthly depreciation.

Job Requirements

Education & Training - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or any relevant field. - CMA or CPA are highly recommended. - Solid working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems. - English and Arabic are a must, in addition to prevailing local language.
